Located in Raipur, Swarnbhoomi is a 200-key wellness resort and hospitality precinct that reinterprets traditional Indian palace typologies through the lens of contemporary architectural precision. The project explores the intersection of monumental scale and refined detailing, creating a cohesive design language that bridges heritage-inspired geometry with the functional requirements of modern luxury hospitality. By stripping away superficial ornamentation, the architecture focuses on the purity of form—specifically through the use of domes, colonnades, and courtyards—to establish a timeless aesthetic rooted in the regional context.
The master plan is organized around a sequence of interstitial spaces and internal courtyards that facilitate passive cooling and natural ventilation. These volumes are articulated using a tactile material palette of locally quarried stone and lime plaster, chosen for their thermal mass and breathable properties. The spatial configuration prioritizes a rhythmic flow of movement, transitioning from expansive public vistas to secluded private sanctuaries. Water features and landscaped pathways are integrated as essential programmatic elements, serving to modulate the microclimate while reinforcing the project’s dedication to holistic wellness and repose.
Swarnbhoomi represents an architecture of clarity and emotional resonance, where the built environment acts as a conduit for the well-being of its occupants. By balancing human-scale volumes with high-performance sustainability standards, the design achieves a sophisticated, eco-conscious hospitality experience. This project stands as a definitive expression of Habitat Architects’ commitment to design excellence and the evolution of Indian architectural identity, demonstrating that cultural richness and modern functionality are not mutually exclusive.
